STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES FOR DATA ANALYSIS

Status : Elective Pre-requisite : MGTE 11573 Co-requisite : None

 

On completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Analyse data in accordance with sound principles of estimation and hypothesis testing
  • Identify appropriate use of methodologies in a variety of practical applications
  • Make effective, meaningful interpretations, judgments and decisions
  • Employ statistical software confidently for topics addressed in this course.

Sources and instruments of data gathering, types of rating techniques, Sampling theory and general statistical estimation for population parameters, test of hypothesis for large samples and small samples, analysis of variance(ANOVA), non-parametric methods, multiple regression analysis and use of statistical packages.

Lectures, interactive classroom sessions, and case discussions.

End of course unit examination, group assignments, mid-term examination, class attendance.
