Dr. Annista Wijayanayake is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka . She has completed her B. Sc. degree in Industrial Management with a first class honors in 1994. She obtained her Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Management, at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, respectively in 1998 and 2001. She also, received the academic excellence award offered by Tokyu Foundation-Japan for Inbound Student in 1998.

Dr. Wijayanayake had also served as a visiting scholar at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Australia. She was a lecturer at Central Queensland University and Charles Sturt University- campus from 2008 to 2010. Currently she is on sabbatical leave and serving as an Teaching Associate at Business Faculty, Monash University - Australia. She is having teaching experience in Japan and Australia in tertiary education on undergraduate and postgraduate level. She also serves as an lecturer at Charles Sturt University-Melbourne campus.

Dr. Wijayanayake had been serving as an academic adviser for the B. Sc. MIT Degree Programme for eight years assisting the students to make the best academic decisions possibly. She also served as a member of the Sports Advisory Board and a Senior Counsellor at University Counselling Unit, which assists the undergraduate students who need consultation or counselling. She is a multilingual speaker who excel in four languages Sinhala, Tamil, English and Japanese.

Her research interests include: statistics, Decision science, system optimization, portfolio optimization, Project Management and health care management. Other areas of research interest focus on gender studies, Women and Gender, women in Rural areas. Her research has been featured in prestigious journals such as Mathematical Programming, International Journal of Theoretical and applied Finance, Journal of Global Optimization and in many International Conference Proceedings.
